Making its home in one of Omaha’s most unique treasures, Union Station, The Durham Museum provides a fascinating look at the history of the region. Through our affiliation with the Smithsonian Institution and strong ties with the Library of Congress, National Archives, Chicago’s Field Museum and others, we also offer a number of temporary exhibits covering subjects ranging from history and culture, to science and industry.

Durham Museum Field Trips are offered daily during regular
museum hours. Groups must include 10 or more participants to receive the
reduced rate. The Durham Museum recommends one teacher/chaperone to every 10
students. Teachers and staff will be admitted at no charge with each registered
group. Additional chaperones/parents/guardians may attend at $5/chaperone. Museum
members will not be charged the $5/chaperone fee. In
order for us to provide you the best museum experience possible, we kindly ask
that your field trip request be complete TWO WEEKS prior to anticipated field

Whether you’re an old friend or first-time visitor, The Durham Museum offers an
exciting, hands-on opportunity to experience history like you’ve never seen it
before. From turn-of-the century
innovations, a bison named “Scout” and a massive steam locomotive, to rare
coins and the region’s most sought-after traveling exhibits, The Durham Museum
is heralded by visitors and scholars for its renowned collections, innovative
exhibitions and extensive photo archives.
Tour groups are welcome daily during regular museum hours. Groups will be checked-in and receive a short overview of the museum before setting out to explore on-your-own.

DIRECTIONS/LOCATION IN OMAHA
The Durham Museum is located just south of Omaha’s Historic Old Market at 801 South 10th Street. Situated on the 10th Street Bridge, the museum can be accessed from both 10th Street and Leavenworth Street. The museum has a two-level parking deck that is FREE to all visitors. Tour bus parking is available free of charge along the 10th Street Bridge.
