Birthday Parties at The Durham

Are you a parent on the run? Then don’t sweat the details of planning your child’s next birthday party. Let The Durham do it for you!  Simply supply the cake and we’ll do all the rest!

Birthday Parties are 1 ½ hours and include themed invites, entertainment, decorations, party favors, one scoop sundaes and even personalized thank you notes.  A birthday party at the Durham is sure to be one of historic proportions!


All Aboard the Party Train
Partygoers learn all about trains during this power-packed birthday full of fun excitement!

After punching your ticket hop on the train for a guided tour, then ages 3-6 will make a train puppet to use in the Durham puppet theatre and ages 7-8 will build a candy train of their very own

Life on the Prairie
Step back into time and visit our log cabin and historic schoolroom to experience life as a Nebraska pioneer. Learn about pioneer homes, churn butter and even try on pioneer clothes!  Activities range from making your very own cornhusk doll or prairie bonnet and learning games the pioneers would play.

(Recommended Age: 4-8)

Traveling Exhibit Party
The Durham Museum partners with museum’s nationwide. Check out our traveling exhibit schedule to see which fun and exciting attractions will be coming to the museum soon! Birthday party activities will focus on the theme of the traveling exhibit. Contact the Education Department for specific details.

Create-Your-Own Party
Have a party already planned and just need a unique place to have it? Then The Durham Museum is the place for you! We’ll provide the room, one-scoop sundaes, invitations and thank-you cards, you provide the fun!
