BIRTHDAY PARTIES AT THE DURHAM
Are you a parent on the run? Then don’t sweat the details of planning your child’s next birthday party. Let The Durham do it for you! Simply supply the cake, and we’ll create a memorable party for your child!

All birthday parties at The Durham Museum include the following:
• A 90-minute rental of a decorated private party room for up to twelve children and four adults
• A guided tour through the museum exhibits tailored to fit your chosen theme
• A themed craft and/or other activity
• One-scoop ice cream sundaes with toppings
• A staff member to assist in set-up/clean-up, lead the tour, and facilitate any crafts or activities
• A goody bag of party favors for each child
• Invitations and thank you cards
• Plates, cups, napkins, and forks – you can select the color

Non-Members: $220.00
$5 for each additional person over 12 children and 4 adults
$100 deposit due upon reservation

ALL ABOARD THE PARTY TRAIN
Partygoers learn all about trains during this power-packed birthday full of fun and excitement! After punching your ticket hop on the train for a guided tour that includes our passenger trains, caboose, steam engine, and more! A wonderful story followed by a train craft project will make this a birthday you will never forget!

LIFE ON THE PRAIRIE
Step back into time and visit our log cabin and historic schoolroom to experience life as a Nebraska pioneer. Learn about pioneer homes, grind coffee, and even try on pioneer clothing! Other activities include pioneer games like “Hide the Thimble” and a yarn doll craft!

EXHIBITION-THEMED PARTY
Women Who Rock | February 9 – May 5, 2013
Your
party is sure to rock with the
Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power
exhibit, from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, in Cleveland,
Ohio. Guests will get a VIP tour of the exhibit and make their own
backstage pass. This party is sure to be off the charts! (Recommended
for ages 8+)
A T. Rex Named Sue | May 25 – September 8, 2013
We’ve
got a party that is sure to make your summer birthday roar with
excitement. Featuring
A T. Rex Named Sue from Chicago’s Field Museum,
party goers will tour the exhibit and engage in several hands-on
activities. You’ll even have a chance to get in touch with your inner
explorer as you dig for fossils and try piecing together your own
dinosaur. (Recommended for ages 5+)
Goose Bumps! | September 28, 2013 – January 5, 2014
This
party is sure to be scarily fun! Created by the California Science
Center,
Goose Bumps! The Science of Fear, will be packed full of
entertainment for your birthday girl or boy. Before even touring the
exhibit, party goers will get the inside scoop on the science of their
senses, by participating in hands on experiments that deal with your
sense of touch, smell, and more. (Recommended for ages 8+)

SODA FOUNTAIN FUN
The Durham Museum is home to an original 1930’s Soda Fountain! Spend your birthday learning how to be a real soda jerk! You and your guests will experience behind the scenes tour, followed by a chance to make your own ice cream sundaes. Finish up with an exciting story about ice cream and a craft that will become a special keepsake from the day.

CREATE-YOUR-OWN PARTY
Do you have a party already planned and need a unique place to have it? Then The Durham Museum is the place for you! We’ll provide a private party room, ice cream sundaes, invitations, and thank-you cards. You provide the fun! In addition to the decorated party room, guests have the opportunity to self-guide throughout the museum’s permanent and temporary exhibits.
